Come Rejoicing

Sing unto the Lord a new song
Let all the earth rejoice with singing,
Let the people tremble.

Sing unto the Lord a new song,
Let all the earth rejoice with singing,
Let the earth be shaken.

O worship the Lord
In the beauty of holiness,
Give glory, and honor
And blessing and power to His Name.
Bring unto the Lord
The offering that's due Him
And come rejoicing
Into His courts of praise.

Psalm 99.1, Psalm 96:8-9
Come Rejoicing is a Festal Processional. It was written for the feast of Shavot, or Pentecost, to be sung and danced as the offering of the first fruits are being presented to the Lord. It also works well as an offertory. Part of the "Beauty of Holiness" series, it is taken from the Davidic Psalm of thankfulness first recorded in 1 Chronicles 16:23-33 and again in Psalm 96:1-9. Psalm 99:1 was also sourced for this piece. David knew how to worship God, passionately and joyfully, in holiness and in reverence. Come Rejoicing exhorts us to do the same.
